A little about me...

I'm Kim - a mother, sister, and wife with a passion for documenting life through photography. I love sunny days, colorful skies, and my bare feet on the ground. I was born in LA, moved to Texas, and came to the Bay Area more than 5 years ago. Having moved around my whole life, I am drawn to exploring the beautiful places around me.

I am the second oldest in a family of 11 and have been working with children for as long as I can remember. I love watching them grow and learn and I cherish all the sweet, little moments in between. As a photographer, I enjoy being able to capture their personalities, unfazed by the world around them. As a mother, I understand how quickly our little ones grow and how important it is to document these fleeting moments. 

As with most other creative souls, my photography career started out as a passion. Since my teenage years, I've always enjoyed capturing the world around me through the lens of a camera. I jumped head first into learning more once my daughter was born when I understood the importance of capturing these memories. I never expected to turn my hobby into a career, but the drive to learn more every single time I picked up my camera has carried me further than I ever expected.

Telling your story in a unique and authentic way is the drive behind my photography. I want to freeze this moment in time and capture your love and history as something that you can cherish forever. What are your sessions like? 

I once had a mama ask "how do you get children to snuggle up so calmly?" and my answer is "I don't!” During your session, I will capture your family and your children as you are. If your family is quiet and reserved, don't come to your session expecting to document a wild adventure. If your children are energetic and adventurous, don't come expecting snuggly photos sitting still. I work hard to engage your children in activities that will bring out their true personalities and to capture the fleeting details and moments that happen in between it all. I want to capture the true essence of your family, even if those intimacies only last for a second. Some sessions are a little chaotic, because let's be real...sometimes life with children is chaotic! But these sessions are no less beautiful than the perfectly proper portraits because they capture YOU and YOUR family. These will be yours and your children's memories...I not only want you to walk away with beautiful images, but with a magical evening spent loving on your family. Come prepared to play games, get snuggly, laugh, and dote on your family and trust me to do the rest! 

Do you offer wardrobe assistance?

Once you've booked your session with me, I will send you a style guide that gives you more information such as tips on what to and not to wear, ideal color palettes for the season, and samples of outfits to show how different colors work together. I can provide more in-depth assistance in finding specific wardrobe pieces or customizing color palettes to fit a current item in your closet. I also have a small selection of women's and children's clothing available to wear for your session. If you'd like more in-depth help planning your outfits, just let me know!

What if I want another location than those that you recommend?

I always chat with you about your vision for your session to get a feel for what overall look you have in mind. I can make specific suggestions about locations I think would fit your vision, as well as your family‘s needs. The locations I recommend in my guide have been tested for ideal lighting, ease of parking, minimal walking to the site, and fewer crowds. I am always down to explore a new place and am open to any suggestions and ideas you may have! Please keep in mind that locations I haven't worked at before may have different lighting, landscape, and colors from images you see in my portfolio. If you've requested another location, there may also be a travel fee required depending on the distance.

What if I want my images edited differently than the style found on your portfolio?

I do not accommodate editing requests. If my style isn't quite what you‘re drawn  to, I am more than happy to refer you to some other amazing artists who may fit your preferences better. Please make sure to look through my portfolio and follow my social media pages to see my most recent work. 

Do you provide RAWs? 

The short answer is no. I hand-edit your images to reflect my artistic interpretation and never share my RAW or unedited files. Your images will be high resolution, edited JPEG files suitable for printing and sharing. 

Do you shoot events or weddings? 

My heart is called to work with families and children, but I take these requests on a case-by-case basis. If you're looking for event coverage, please contact me to discuss details. 

What is your typical response time?

I typically respond to messages and inquiries within 24 hours, unless I am traveling. I may be a little slower to respond on weekends, as my attention is focused on sessions taking place during this time or for time spent with my own family. If you don't hear back from me within this time frame, please email me again. Sometimes inquiries can get lost or I may miss them! The best way to contact me is via email or through my website.
